Me, of course!
Okay, maybe not. But you want me to pick just one favorite author? Yeah, that's not happening. There are far too many terrific authors out there, and all of them have something special that the others don't. So, I can't give you a simple answer, but here are several of my favorites. This list is by no means complete.
Adult authors: Terry Pratchett, David Brin, Lois McMaster Bujold, Glen Cook, Stephen Brust, C.J. Cherryh, Roger Zelazny, Piers Anthony, Robert Aspirin, Anne McCaffrey, Douglas Adams.
Young adult and middle grade authors: David Rudden, Eoin Colfer, J.K. Rowling, Rick Riordan, Marie Lu, Shel Silverstein, Jack Prelutski, Bruce Coville, Wendelin Van Draanen, Margaret Peterson Haadix, Andrew Clements, Cassandra Clare, Bruce Hale.
